Gain real-world experience through transformational team projects, free mentorship, and paid team-lead roles.

How it Works

Application & Evaluation: Complete a project-based assessment (via the AIVIA™ Evaluator) relevant to your internship choice.

Project Selection: Team leads select either a research paper or choose to build an innovative online product, ensuring every internship delivers tangible, relevant outcomes.

Phased Project Process: Virtual-Internships follow clear milestones, structured in phases:
Replicate → Extend → Present (Research Projects),
Architect → Design → Test (Product-Building Projects)
Each phase provides measurable skills validation and clear deliverables. -
Paid Lead Position: Leads earn weekly compensation plus potential bonuses. Your role includes organizing at least one team meeting per phase, overseeing deliverable progress, and coordinating team efforts.

Collaborative Experience: All participants benefit from continuous mentoring via our Mentor Chains®. Leads coordinate team efforts and directly engage with STEM-Away mentors.
All participants must be sufficiently experienced to engage in unsupervised team collaboration via third-party platforms (Discord/Slack).
