How to Earn as an AIVIA™ Qualified Mentor: Your Step-by-Step Guide

:rocket: Becoming an AIVIA Mentor: Your Path to Sharing Knowledge and Expertise

Looking to monetize your STEM knowledge and expertise? AIVIA’s mentor marketplace provides an opportunity to earn money by helping students with projects you’re already familiar with. Here’s how to get started:

Note: Whether you’re interested in becoming a Mentor or a Talent Scout, the initial qualification process is identical. Complete the evaluations to reach at least Intermediate level competency, then choose which opportunity to pursue—or participate in both programs simultaneously!

Step 1: Choose Projects That Match Your Expertise

  • Head over to AIVIA™ Projects and choose one or more projects that interest you.
  • Review the projects thoroughly—you don’t necessarily need to implement them, but you should be comfortable with the background knowledge.

Step 2: Prove Your Knowledge with MCQ Evaluation

  • Once you’re ready, begin the MCQ evaluation at the top of the project page. The MCQ is designed to test your basic understanding.
  • You have two free MCQ attempts per project, and you need 8/10 to pass.
  • If you use up both attempts, additional tries require 5 tacks each.

Step 3: Track Your Progress :bar_chart:

  • You can find the projects you have attempted in your AIVIA™ Dashboard .
  • Monitor your evaluation results and competency levels all in one place.

Step 4: Demonstrate Advanced Understanding

  • After passing the MCQ, you become eligible for the AIVIA™ Evaluation, which delves deeper into your knowledge.
  • For a limited time, you also have 2 free AIVIA™ Evaluations!
  • This comprehensive evaluation (typically 20–30 minutes) consists of 3 objective-style questions, each with follow-ups.
  • Upon completion, you’ll be assigned Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert.

Step 5: Qualify for Mentorship Opportunities :bullseye:

  • Achieve Intermediate level or higher on at least one project to qualify as a Mentor.
  • This ensures students connect with Mentors who’ve demonstrated genuine competency.

Step 6: Opt In as a Mentor

  • Return to your AIVIA Dashboard and look for the Mentor Opt-In button (once you’re qualified).
  • Enable it to make yourself available for mentorship in this or related projects!
  • After opting in, you’ll be visible to students seeking Mentors. You can set your own rates and availability.

:pushpin: Important Notes:

  • Your competency level is displayed publicly if you have passing scores, establishing your credibility as a mentor.
  • You have complete control over your availability and can set your own rates for mentoring sessions.
  • As a mentor, you’ll help students overcome challenges in projects you’re already familiar with, making your guidance particularly valuable.
