Your Project, Powered by AIVIA
Turn Your Research Interest
Into an ISEF-Quality Project
Your research interest, translated into computational projects. Build independently, with optional expert mentoring.
Everything you need to get started is right here if you are ready — or visit our info page for an in-depth look.
01 Share Your Research Interest
Tell us what you’re curious about. Any stage of idea works. We translate your research idea into relevant Shadow Projects, standalone computational tasks that reflect the core technical challenges in your research area.
02 We Design Your Project Blueprint
We design a clear blueprint that organizes your Shadow Projects into a buildable plan. Each Shadow Project builds skills, tests feasibility, and gives potential mentors concrete work to demonstrate their expertise.
03 Review and Approve
You review the full set of Shadow Projects. Each includes a clear goal, suggested tools, and success criteria. You may request up to two rounds of revision. Once approved, the blueprint is yours to execute.
04 Vetted, Task-Ready Mentors
We build a pool of prescreened mentors aligned to your Shadow Projects. Before you commit, you receive vetting questions to confirm each mentor’s expertise for your specific tasks. Hire mentors directly, with no markup and no long-term obligation.
05 Build With Confidence
Each Shadow Project includes clear structure, starter code, and an evaluator that provides actionable feedback. You can build independently or bring in expert help when it matters. Your research idea remains entirely yours; the Shadow Projects are your practice field.
Note: Shadow Projects are shared for mentor vetting. Your project blueprint and ideas remain private.

Proven Methodology
Built on the STEM-Away Platform
Our Shadow Project approach is proven. It is the same project building methodology used across STEM-Away’s Virtual Internship programs to support thousands of students. We are now applying that proven system to science competitions and college-ready technical work.

What Is Different?
This is standalone project mentorship, not a Virtual-Internship. You receive project scoping and mentor access, then build at your own pace.
