  • Learned how to write Discourse Theme in local machine and pushed to GitHub

  • Learned how to create an account for Discourse and upload themes from GitHub to Discourse and preview themes on Discourse.

2. Achievement Highlights

  • Successfully clone the remote “FS-Pathway_RemoteTheme” to the local machine by git clone

  • Successfully created new branch and push codes from new branch to GitHub

  • Wrote customized codes in “after_header.html” of Theme for testing

  • Successfully loaded theme from my branch to Discourse and preview the theme in Discourse

3. Tasks completed

  • Finished reading the introduction of Sass Basics

  • Finished reading the introduction of Handlebars

  • Created discourse account

  • Made new branch and push codes from new branch to GitHub by “git push -u origin”

  • Uploaded theme from my GitHub branch to Discourse and preview theme in Discourse

4. Challenges faced

  • After I created an account for Discourse and log into it, I found my UI of Discourse is quite different from what I saw in the screenshots of “Beginner’s guide to using Discourse Themes”. Fortunately, it is not difficult to find the field to upload the theme from GitHub and preview the theme. Eventually, I installed the theme from my GitHub branch to Discourse, customize the colors for the theme and preview the theme in Discourse Successfully.
