Awprakas - Bioinformatics Pathway

  • Concise overview of things learned
    • Technical area: I haven’t learnt anything new. I have just been using previous R knowledge to mess with the deliverables
    • Tools: R Studio
    • Soft skills: Meeting and communicating with my team about the deliverables.
  • Three achievement highlights
    • I was able to get through quality control with relative ease and understanding
    • I set up the first meeting with the team
    • I was able to troubleshoot some problems with R
  • List of meetings attended including social team events
    • I haven’t been able to make most meetings except the first one due to my summer class. However, that ends this week - so I will be able to attend more meetings!
  • Goals for the upcoming week
    • Attend meetings!
    • Ask leads why I can’t perform normalisation with my R
    • Get up to speed, R-wise, so that I can be an asset to my group.
  • Detailed statement of tasks done - specifically challenges and how those challenges were overcome
    • Did quality control (with ease) and was able to determine outliers.
    • Could not do normalisation, so I need help with that. However, I know that once I get normalisation the other tasks are the same as pre-normalisation so I’m not super worried.
    • Meeting with my group was kind of troublesome and no one was on the same page. Neither was anyone meeting at the set time allotted… Hoping that changes this week.
